David Fornos

David is a 23-year-old engineer originally from Barcelona, Spain. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnical University of Catalonia in 2023, majoring in Telecommunication Systems. While in college, David participated in multiple internships, research projects. Notably, he worked at the UPC NanoSat Lab, where he developed algorithms for RFI detection as part of satellite payload design.  During his senior year, David was selected for a 6 months visiting researcher opportunity at Texas A&M University under Dr. Daniel Selva, where he conducted his bachelor thesis on generative AI for engineering design. Upon returning to Spain and graduating, David joined the company GMV Aerospace and Defense, a leading aerospace company in Europe where he worked on projects for the Spanish military and the European Space Agency. His primary role was developing detection and localization systems for GNSS spoofing and jamming attacks, which is crucial for electronic warfare. After a year of industry experience, David returned to Texas A&M, where he is now pursuing a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on leveraging AI to optimize space systems and mission design. Outside of work, David enjoys activities like working out, hiking, reading, playing guitar and traveling, which help him recharge and bring fresh ideas to his work.
