Antoni Virós

Antoni is a third year PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. He is currently doing research on Human Computer Interaction (HCI) applied to Engineering Design tasks, as well as knowledge retrieval from unstructured text. In layman terms, he is working on ways to make satellite design easier by creating new tools for engineers.

Before starting his PhD, he was working at Cornell University as a Visiting Scientist for a year and a half, and he got a double Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science at UPC, the Polytechnic University of Catalunya.

The result of his research up to now is Daphne, a Cognitive Assistant tool to assist engineers design satellites with the help of different assistants, plots and databases. A (mostly) working demo can be seen at https://www.selva-research.com/daphne.

Apart from research, Antoni likes music, videogames, judo and ski.
